Other Work
My work builds upon itself, in this way there is a direct narrative through the technical aspects of my artwork, with points of convergence and divergence – such is the process of development and refinement.
The meditative and methodical natures of the primary techniques that I utilize – hand embroidery and lace making – offer time to observe and consider the direction of the work and for future works. There’s an ongoing dialogue between the materials and my hands. Conceptual and direct narrative branches have opened alongside expanding my set of materials and techniques. The work itself is a form of meditation and resulting pieces, become artifacts of meditation. There’s a meditative aspect to repetition - repeated movement and repeated mark making.
Some artworks become standalone pieces; however, I prefer to work in series as this provides the time and space for exploration.
